Seamless joining method for circular steel pipes 'SpS Method'

"SpS method," a joining technique that does not use welding for existing circular steel pipes.

The SpS (SPS) method is a joint construction technique that installs seismic reinforcement members onto existing circular steel pipes (such as columns and truss beams) without welding. It consists of a "reinforcement member joint (non-bonded area)" where the seismic reinforcement member is attached, and "shear resistance areas (bonded areas)" installed on both sides of the reinforcement member joint. These components are attached using specialized half-cylindrical hardware that clamps around the existing circular steel pipe. The stresses generated at the joint are transmitted to the existing circular steel pipe through the shear force at the bonded area, the axial force (tensile and compressive forces) at the reinforcement member joint, and the bending moment at both the reinforcement member joint and the shear resistance area. **Features** - No need for fire protection measures as welding is not used. - No need to drill bolt holes into the existing circular steel pipe. - Construction can be carried out while leaving any irregularities from the existing circular steel pipe. - By separating the bonded and non-bonded areas to distribute stress, it prevents a decrease in adhesive strength due to peeling. *For more details, please contact us or download the catalog to view.*
